This is a personal preference. We only use Swiss lace and high quality silk material for our closures. We have clients who love silk and some who hate silk, vice versa for the lace material. We will give you the facts:
Pros: It gives a scalp-like appearance when placed against your skin or natural scalp. It also allows for a very flat and easy application that will make your install look very real.
Cons: You’ll need to do some tweaking or tweezing to lace closures to achieve the best results. Because the hair strands are directly embedded into the sheer lace you may see tiny black knots where the hair and lace meet are visible when placed against your skin. You may have to add concealer on the lace material. Cannot add a clip to the very middle as it will show through the lace, instead clips are added around the outer edges and spare clips are included to give you option to later add this one once you have decided where you wish to part your closure.
Pros: Premium Silk Base mimics the scalp giving real life scalp appearance with no visible knots. Can add clips to the very centre of the closure without showing through the lace.
Cons: While the silk material helps to conceal the knots to create the appearance of a real scalp, every scalp isn’t created equal so if you are of darker complexion and have a much darker scalp, you will need to alter and tint your silk base. Also, this type of closure tends to be a little thicker, which can pose as a challenge with getting a super flat install.

Due to hygiene reasons, we can only offer refunds or exchanges on hair pieces that have not been opened, tried on, worn or altered in any way. We are unable to issue a refund or exchange an item which has been made to order in the following ways: bespoke hair texture, change of base size not originally offered online, request for a hair colour not advertised on the colour chart option. Please note, we’re unable to refund or exchange any items which have been purchased with our Colour Service product or have been colour treated to match a hair sample.
All packaging must be returned with any return or exchange. Please note that if you choose a free shipping option at Checkout, a fee will be deducted from the refund to cover the original shipping costs. Please email email@example.com for our returns address. Please include your full name, order number, order date, email address and the reason for the return. Regretfully, express service or DHL Courier charge (if chosen) is non-refundable.
Returns will be processed within 2 working days of receipt. Please allow a further 7 working days for the funds to be returned to your bank account.
The customer is responsible for any return postage and must use a trackable service to ensure that the package arrives safely. Perfectfringe Ltd cannot be responsible for any returns that go missing. The customer will be required to open a claim with the shipping courier for the loss should a package go missing.
Please note that when returning items from outside the UK and the EU you will need to complete a customs form stating that the contents of the package are a customer return, with zero value. If the returned package attracts a customs charge upon re-entry to the UK, then unfortunately, the package will be returned to you automatically by the postal service before it reaches us.
